Ryan and I are currently sitting at the library drowning in a load of school work. Ryan definitely more so than me, so I have time to blog. Yay! I decided that instead of blogging about our boring lives right now, I would go back and daydream about our fun-packed summer. Our summer began with a great trip to one of my family’s favorite, and most visited destinations growing up- Atlantis in the Bahamas.
So Many Memories
Atlantis, Bahamas is a beautiful place with a huge resort. I’m pretty sure it’s impossible to get bored there, there’s something for everybody! When I first went to Atlantis, I was young enough to go to the kids club. Can’t get in there anymore, though, I’ve tried. 😛 I have so many memories in this place and I wanted to reminisce a little bit with some pictures of this beautiful location!
Atlantis Trip 2019
The last trip to Atlantis: Celebrating my mom’s 50th. This was a special trip because it was the first trip Ryan and I have been on with my family since we got married. We tasted hogfish, homemade fresh-squeezed lemonade, and fried conch. We snorkeled with sea turtles, soaked up the Bahamian sun, and reminisced about the first time came to Atlantis and fell in love. To celebrate my mom’s big 5-0, we ate a grand and fancy dinner at the Four Seasons Resort. Oh, and you can’t forget the countless hours we spent at the resort experiencing the waterslides, lazy river, beaches, and pools.
A couple of years prior, my mom, aunt, my friend/college roommate Anna, and I went to Atlantis for Spring Break. Girls trip! The highlight of this trip was that we got on a yacht. I repeat, we got on a yacht. Clearly, by the kiss the owner of said yacht snuck on my aunt in the pic below, the owner really liked my aunt. lol. Maybe that’s how we made it on. Regardless of how we pulled it off, here’s some pics we took to prove we made it.
Another magical time. After only 6 months of dating, Ryan and I vacationed with our families to… you guessed it, Atlantis. Atlantis is a special place for Ryan and I because it’s where we began to dream of our future together. While sitting on the dock admiring the yachts, we dreamt of becoming doctors together, having kids, and even coming back to Atlantis together 10 years later. We had the chance to go back even sooner than we imagined- but I think we still gotta try for the 10-year anniversary trip! And redo one of these pictures when we do go!
So many more memories…
Atlantis is one of those places that feels like home away from home. It’s familiar. It’s comfortable. It is always fun, always beautiful, and it has the best ice cream shop in the world, Ben and Jerrys ;). I will always love coming back to reminisce and experience new adventures on this beautiful island. While I’m all about experiencing new places, there is something special about the tradition of having a family vacation spot. While I don’t think this will be Ryan and I’s family vacation spot (we hope that is Hawaii!), I definitely want to visit again, and hope to have the chance to bring my kids one day also! Next time I go, I hope to swim with the pigs in the Exuma Islands! We’ve been once before, but last time we swam with sharks, not pigs 😉 (Some pics of the Exumas below)
